Hello and welcome back!

A lot has happened in the last month. If you remember I showed you what was on my large AVL loom, and this article was supposed to be about that piece. However, the loom and I had a few challenges so that will be a few more weeks/months.

So what has happened? I was having so much fun with the tapestry book by Rebecca Mezoff that I decided to sign up for her on-line class. The class that I selected is ‘Warp and Weft’ and it is broken down into 3 sections. While her book is great, her classes are amazing. I have learned so much and I’m just getting started.

This piece isn’t about design it is about techniques and learning good weaving habits. I tried to have a color theme, but it takes more weft than I realized… so I ran out of the pretty blue early in the weaving. So I started using a lot more of the orange… then it started to run low so I had to use a darker/more muted version of the original blue.

This was fun to do, I cannot wait to start on lesson 2!!
